Interior design bedroom in pastel colors.

Pastel artists call chalk for drawing, which is obtained by pressing paints in powder. The name of the drawing tool was transferred to the paintings filled with these crayons. The colors of such paintings, as a rule, are very light, and as if powdered with powder. Such powdery colors gradually gained great popularity, and began to be used by designers in interior design. The saturation of pastel colors is medium or even low, compared with the original tones, they are much lighter.

Pastel shades

Pastel shades have their own names. So, green, used in pastel painting, is called mint, red - coral, orange may have a peach or apricot tone, purple - lavender or lilac. Yellow in pastels can be lemon, blue - turquoise. Of course, these colors do not exhaust the richness of the pastel palette, there may be other tones, but they must be slightly faded, as if burned out in the sun, scattered, or powdered.

Properties of pastel colors

One of the reasons for the popularity of the design of bedrooms in pastel colors is their impact on the human nervous system. Shades of pastels are suitable for any temperament, have a positive effect on the psyche, refresh and soothe. They have neither warming nor cooling effects, that is, they are neutral, so they can be used both in the bedrooms facing the north and in those that are oriented to the south.

The use of pastel tones makes it possible to experiment with color combinations, as they all harmonize perfectly with each other. It is difficult to imagine a bedroom decorated in blue, violet and red colors at the same time. In such a bedroom, the nervous system of a person will be agitated and strained to the limit. However, when using pastel shades of these colors, such a combination is not only possible, but can also be unusually elegant and pleasant, and it will be easy and quiet to be in such an interior.

Design options

A bedroom in pastel colors always looks elegant and gentle, and is very suitable for women. If there is a desire to make a men's bedroom, it is worthwhile to dwell on blue-blue tones, with the addition of shades of green. In any case, light powdery colors will bring freshness and softness to the interior, which is very appropriate in the bedroom. Usually when designing interiors use one of the following three schemes:

  1. A neutral tone is used as the base tone, and an additional tone is pastel. Examples: beige and light blue, gray and pastel pink, delicate brown and mint.
  2. Both as a base and as an additional pastel colors are used. In this case, you can combine any shades, for example, blue and pink, blue and lilac, lemon and mint, coral and turquoise. All pastel colors are in perfect harmony with each other, so you can make pairs to your own taste without the risk of being mistaken.
  3. Three or even more pastel shades are used at once in various combinations. Do not be afraid that the result will be too bright - pastel colors soften the color combinations, and the finished interior will be joyful and at the same time delicate.

As a thinner pastel shades of light beige is best suited. In this role, white, brown, and gray can also act, but still the most appropriate designers consider beige, milk, cream, cream.
